Entire internal transport disassembled, cleaned of old grease, re-lubed and reassembled. Rubber pinch roller has been reconditioned, as well as all internal drive tires / wheels for positive grip, capstan burnished, heads have been cleaned and de-magnetized as well as the entire transport. New main drive belt installed and counter belt reconditioned for years of trouble-free service. All internal pots and controls cleaned and tested for noise-free function. Even though the original meter lamps was working, we replaced it with a new one for years of trouble free service. Both spindles in perfect alignment. Brakes on both sides in good shape. Heads in great shape as well, with many years of performance left in them and head alignment / azimuth has been adjusted for peak performance. Plays perfectly and records INCREDIBLY WELL @ +3db!!! (and we really put them through the paces, testing both with well mixed, recently recorded CD material and CD recorded / factory test tones looking for correct head Azimuth and speed accuracy and audibly undetectable WOW & Flutter). This is one of the best recording and sounding decks we have had in the past few years! Pinch roller and heads all in GREAT condition. Both level meters playback even. Speed checked to 99.0% accuracy. Pinch roller and heads all in GREAT condition!!! This deck was about the cleanest we have ever had across the bench, even before we started on it. Capstan motor re-lubed. Multi-pin circuit edge connectors common in this series have been inspected their entire length and repaired where necessary for positive connection. All internal pots and controls cleaned and tested for noise-free function. Both spindles in perfect alignment and run true with no wobble. Both VU meters work great with even response. We also adjusted the reel table heights. Heads in great shape as well, with many years of performance left in them and head alignment / azimuth has been checked and adjusted for peak performance. Records incredibly well at ~+3dB!!! Plays great on both channels. Both level meters playback even. Deck has clear sounding highs even when using pre-recorded tapes. Deck has a very rare feature that we have not seen on any deck to date. It has a front accessible track / cross-talk adjustment. This allows you to adjust the heads, for each tape cartridge you insert, thus optimizing L & R track response. This is the coolest thing we have ever seen on a deck. They should all have this. If you are a business doing media transfers for customers, then this would be the deck to use and continue to maintain, simply because of that feature! No more sticking a matchbook under the cartridge to compensate for a housing that is molded differently. Heads have been cleaned and entire transport has been de-magnetized. Main drive belt has been replaced for trouble free service. Since we also burnish the program track light contacts, all the track indicator lamps light and are responsive.* Unit has also had an accessory AC outlet pigtail added to the rear panel.
