It's mechanically refurbished and ready to go. It has just been serviced and it sounds and works GREAT! Loading mechanism belt replaced, entire machine cleaned inside and out, transport cleaned and re-lubed and now all works great. We replaced both typically troublesome fast wind / take-up idler tires with new so Play Take-up, FF & REW work great which ultimately means it won't eat your tapes! One great design feature about this machine is that it is direct drive and does not require a main motor belt. We also replaced the tape carriage belt. Video and Audio heads have been cleaned and demagnetized as have all the parts in the transport.  We have tested the transport in both playback and record modes. We also checked for excessive Wow & Flutter in the sound. Fixed the typical "sluggishness" of 20+ year old VCR's Loading, FF and Rew. All lamps and displays function fine. Will play mono or stereo tapes in mono fine. Plays & records Beta II & III speeds in mono sound. With the exception of a slight glitch, in that you must FF a completely Rewound tape for a split second (a few inches), prior to pressing "PLAY", all works great. Probably one of the best performing decks we have ever had in either speed, but especially fabulous in Beta II speed. Tracking responds as it should.  Great Sanyo "Super-Beta" / Beta VCR. Great for dubbing your tapes to hard drive, DVD or VHS of just for watching them. Will also play tapes made from "BetaMovie" video cameras. We have tested the transport in both playback and record modes. All works great. (This is a 2 head deck, so it will not have clear FF, Rew or pause in case for some reason you need that). SOLD 4/19/09	NEW LISTING 2/2/08 (click on above thumbnails to enlarge photos) warranty ZENITH MODEL VR-9750J #...1521 "Video-Director" BETA BETAMAX VCR Circa late 1970's for sale Refurbished, "Top-Loading", Zenith 9750J Beta / Betamax VCR. We have completely gone through this unit, cleaning inside and out, including the heads and transport. Loads, Ejects, Plays and Records well. We reconditioned the rubber pinch roller and replaced most internal belts. All rubber drive tires removed, reconditioned and replaced. We checked all heads / tape path for azimuth, adjusting where necessary. We also checked for excessive Wow & Flutter in the sound. The replaced and reconditioned rubber took care of any issues there. It also took place of any video distortion issues that 20+ year old VCR's typically exhibit. We also de-magnetized the heads and entire transport. Fixed the typical "sluggishness" of 20+ year old VCR's Load, FF and Rew transport issues. All lamps and displays function fine. We restored this as a PLAYBACK ONLY deck. While it does record video, it does not record audio. Since most of our clients need Beta machines solely for playback of tapes for transfer to another media, pursuing the record issue was not practical and would only add to it's final cost. Will play mono or stereo tapes in mono fine. Tracking adjustment. Plays Beta II & III speeds in mono sound. This is a great machine for watching you old Beta tapes and doing transfers / transferring your Beta Tapes to DVD, VHS, Hard-Drive or other format. These early top loaders were very well built. Easy to service down the road should any be required. This deck is Ready To Go for playback! Deck measures 19.25" wide x 15.5" deep x 6.5" high and weighs 39 lbs unpacked. We have completely gone through this unit, cleaning inside and out, including the heads and transport, however it still has an issue with lines of distortion in it's video playback. Adjusting the tracking both internally then externally with the control does not make it "go away" completely. Loads, Ejects, FF & Rew fine. Had all internal belts melted from age. We replaced them all with new, but  the drive switch is not shutting off when loading a tape, so it continues to run. We removed the belt for the tape pull drive. VCR lights up and clock sets. Looks good with normal, minor wear. May be an easy fix, but we assume it will be sought after only for prop use so we didn't go further with it. PANASONIC PV-1200X fixer upper / As-is / Prop Use $180.
(click on above thumbnails to enlarge photos) SANSUI MODEL SV-R9900HF VHS VCR Circa 1984-87  FOR SALE Selling for repair or limited use. With the exception of a minor load issue, this machine seems to work fine. Loaded with features such as: - Hi-Fi Stereo Audio Playback and Recording - Dolby NR - Flying Erase heads - Insert Edit - Audio Dubbing - Independent L & R Audio Recording level controls - Recording Level indicators - Simulcast capable - L or R Audio monitor - L&R microphone inputs - Sharpness control - Normal & Slow tracking controls - Clear "Still / Pause" As stated earlier, it has a load issues. The tape loads and drops, but not quite far enough. You can reach in the tape load slot and manually "push" it the remaining 1/2" down, then everything works fine. This would also make a great machine for recording "Long-Play" audio only tapes, much as you would use a Reel to  Reel or for dubbing those "audio-only" VHS tapes you made long ago to another format (it is possible to record 4-6 hour audio / music tapes on a standard VHS tapes with this machine). This was a very "High-end" machine when new! Use it as-is or go further with the repair. SANSUI MODEL SV-R9900HF fixer upper / As-is $119. NEAR NEW looking, Front-Loading, Dual-speed (Beta II & Beta III), Sony SL-25 Beta VCR. Unfortunately this machine has load issues. It will load, (with some internal help) and sometimes wrap the tape through the tape path, but then immediately rejects and ejects. May be electronic problem or just an issue from sitting around un-used for so long. We did not go any further with work on it. Too many other "fish to fry". Cosmetically near new condition.
