The
Yamaha GS-2 is a 73 note piano type keyboard, 16-note polyphonic, 4
operator FM synthesizer with a “piano action” keyboard. The
Yamaha GS2 is an early FM synthesizer
and a predecessor of the famous DX series. Many of the classic DX-7 sounds
were born on this machine. Very good electric pianos, metallic percussive
sounds, DX brass, DX strings, great organic pads.
While this is a 4 operator FM synth, it doesn't sound as cheesy as the
DX-9, 11, 21,
27, 100 TX-81Z. The presets are a standard mix of harpsichord,
clavinet, piano, Rhodes, vibes, strings, brass, organs. There are 16
memory locations, and while the sounds can't be edited, different sounds
can be loaded via pre-programmed magnetic strips (library
not available from us). The sounds are retained in memory
even when the unit is turned out and unplugged. There are 2 "AA" batteries
under the keyboard for memory backup.

The GS-2 was touted as a digital piano, but had a larger selection of
synthesizer sounds than just piano. Optionally
load different sounds into memory via a built-in Canon
"k-15913-93"
magnetic card reader.
This unit
appears to be a factory MIDI version as the MIDI ports / controls are not
located on the bottom side, but on the back edge.
The GS-2 is a very large instrument, weighing in at a hefty 158 pounds
and is built into a Tolex road case with metal
hardware. The lid doubles as the keyboard stand.
The whole package looks very similar to the CP-20 electronic piano. The
GS-2 was used by Roger Schuman of Spyra Gyra, and The legendary Vangelis.

great shape with little wear. Original Foot pedal module is missing it's
road case / back, but that does not affect performance. All latches and
hinges intact and work fine. All functions have been tested. We also
loaded all the original factory 16 voices back in and installed new memory
back-up batteries with a "good thru 2015 date".
Only issue is a slight, constant "ring" tone / whistle in the
4-5kHz region in the back ground. It is not affected by the volume or
tone controls, nor does it change with the "patch". It is affected by
the "Tune", "Vibrato" and "Chorus". It is most prevalent out of the 1/4"
jacks, reduced in volume out of the balanced outputs and appears to be
non-existent out of the headphone jack. A tech versed on this model could
also likely rectify the issue. Original "Canon"
"k-15913-93"
card reader and motor in fine shape. Includes a copy of the owners manual.
This unit is very large and heavy. Measures 59" wide, 33" deep and 33"
high (when set-up) and weighs 159 lbs.

21" deep and 21" high (when set-up) and weighs ~150 lbs.

Circa 1955-64
Beautiful looking and sounding Hammond, M3 / M-3, Tone Wheel, Tube
powered organ. If you can't afford a B3 or C3 and want to get "THE SOUND"
, then this is a great, popular and well known way to do it. They are
essentially a B3 / C3 without the tone / EQ presets on the left hand side
of the keyboard (that is the "reverse" color keys you see on B3's and
C3's.) Without that feature, you simply change the EQ / Drawbars manually
for each type of tone. This one has had all the filter caps checked as
well as all the tubes checked and replaced with original "Old Stock" US
versions where necessary. Original 12", Rola, AlNiCo magnet Speaker sounds
great! Organ is in great cosmetic and working condition. Only issue is
that one of the bass pedals is louder than the rest (we have not pursued
that due to assuming most players either aren't going to use them, or are
going to "chop" it for road use). Starter and Run motor both perform
flawlessly, as does the scanner. Regularly oiled, maintained and ran. It's
a blast to play. Keep it the way it is, or "chop" it to take on the road.
Would also work and sound great with a Leslie kit installed if you so
desire. Runs and sounds great the way it is
though!

Inside measures 27 1/2" long x 13 " deep x 3 1/2" tall when
lined with 1" of foam. Thicker or thinner foam would yield different
dimensions. Existing foam needs to be replaced prior to use. Foam usually
needs to be replaced every 12-15 years due to ozone effects. Outside
measures 29 1/2" long x 16 1/2" deep x 6" tall and weighs
12 lbs.

This is a repair kit to
repair those worn out, mis-firing Korg Poly, Alesis, Yamaha, Roland and any other
brand of drum machine or keyboard rubber key contacts. The
contact strips themselves are no longer available in most cases, but
if the rubber matrix is still intact you can easily do a quality repair on them and get back
to making music!
Each kit is designed / rated to do over 200
contacts (I
recently mixed up a batch, was able to do over 300 contacts, and hardly put a "dent" in
the amount in the container. Probably could have done 1000 or more. Once mixed,
compound must
be used with-in 72 hours). Great for musicians and repair shops
needing to resurrect those old keyboards. Use if keys / buttons / switches
are making intermittent sound / contact or no sound at all. We have tested this stuff in our
own repair shop and it works great. Much to our surprise it also works on
keys that transmit velocity or touch sensitivity too.
Manufacturer has
tested repaired contacts to over 500,000 keystrokes and
they passed. If you've tried cleaning
yours, they work for a while
but they just keep getting worse, here's your fix. We were amazed at
how well this stuff works. We repair all our key contacts using this

replacements for DX-7 batteries. If your battery is older than 5 years
(and most are) then you need one of these. Recommend installation by
qualified technician and you will need to re-install the internal memory
from an original data cartridge, another DX-7 or
similar device, or off the web!

(Original Library contains all original 32 voice strips with a number of
back-up, empty strips in original Yamaha Leather GS2 Voice Library Binder)
The
GS-2 originally came with a voice library of 32
factory pre-programmed cards and several blank ones for backup.
*Original
library can be rented to re-load 16 of the 32 available voices onto your
Yamaha GS1 or GS2
digital piano if you no longer have your magnetic
strips. Rental is 10 days, counting FedEx 2 day shipping to and from any
of the US states (shipping price included in rental fee). Total purchase
price will be charged and balance refunded at time of SAFE return of
original, library to Oak Tree Vintage. Currently Library is in perfect,
like-new condition and all voices intact. For refund of $395 deposit,
library must arrive in same condition, with all voices intact and no bent
or torn cards. Issues with your card reader / keyboard causing "no-load"
situation, will not void transaction. Any card reader or "re-write" of our
library will mean you own it at the full purchase price. This offer of
rental is only available as long as the library is available. Library
rental also includes a copy of all 32 voices, their locations and
"quick-use" hints.

We did get it to work, but unfortunately 7 of the keys
aren't firing and the AC cord receptacle needs to be replaced. We don't
currently have the time resources to put into so are, for the time being,
offering it As-Is.
