This is a super high quality tuner and one of the finest ever made by Harman Kardon. Weighted tuning wheel starts the very accurate digital tuner in either direction. 8 AM & FM presets. Stereo / Mono FM. Fluorescent readout displays tuning frequency, signal strength meter and Quartz locked indicator. Tuner also features High Blend function and a rear mounted variable output level control. The FM section features a variable muting control. Dual RCA outputs for both variable and fixed output levels. Built-in AM loop antenna included. We have gone through it and checked all functions completely. It works great and looks new! This is one of the best looking pieces of Hi-Fi gear I have seen. As good as the photos are, the do not come close to conveying it's stature in real life. This unit was bought in Guam and brought to the states by a military officer. We also aligned the tuner front-end for optimum AM & FM performance as older internal tuner components have always drifted on vintage gear over the years and this one had definitely drifted. Pulls stations great now. All dial, meter & indicator lamps checked for proper function. No power supply hum of any kind. It's dead silent! All functions test fine. The BEST sounding tuner for FM, we've ever had! Easy to see why these are so sought after. Very quiet, GREAT tuner quality. - Analog tuning with vernier tuning knob - All solid-state construction - Analog tuning meter - Variable or Fixed RCA outputs - Mono / Stereo - SCA Filter Out / In - MX Stereo Indicator Tuner is in BEAUTIFUL condition having a Walnut case with some nice flaming along the bottom edge. Front knobs have been replaced and are not originals. The originals use "friction fitting" and do not hold well over time. Replaced with "set screw" versions. Internal variable tuning cap fully shielded with sheet metal housing to reduce RFI. Again, this is one of the cleanest, warmest sounding tuners I have ever heard! It's such a pleasure to use. Picks up incredibly well, and has a super clean signal with-out drifting or muting the top-end. Again, these were never famous as a feature loaded tuner, but is on the top of the heap for performance of FM reception. Features Marantz's famous "Gyro-Wheel" analog tuning. Also has variable Muting, Stereo / Mono and High Blend. There is also an antenna attenuator, Quadradial output and both fixed and variable output RCA jacks. The Variable output is independently adjustable for right and left output levels. Classic "Blue-Face" window inset into milled and brushed Aluminum face! Wood grained metal case is in great shape with virtually no wear! Face is also in like new condition with no wear. It looks NEW! If you're looking for an exceptionally great performing tuner, especially in the AM section (great for listening to those night time ball games that most stereo system tuners can't pick up) then this may be the one for you. And it's DIGITAL! I have sold new and used tuners since '82 and have only seen a "handfull" that will pick up AM at all. This one not only picks it up, but rivals any portable / tube radio I have ever tried. And it's digital. Those two things are not supposed to ever work out. I don't know if all the versions of this model works well, but THIS ONE DOES!
