We also aligned the tuner front-end for optimum AM & FM performance as older internal tuner components have always drifted on vintage gear over the years. All dial, meter & "Stereo" indicator lamps replaced with new units. All inputs tested, including both phono inputs, and both amplifiers produces clean and even sine waves into static 8 & 4 ohm loads! No power supply hum of any kind. It's dead silent! All functions test fine. Following restoration procedures, the unit was ran continuously at medium volume, as all our amplifier / receivers are, into a load with "Loudness" on and both Tone Controls at 10 for 72 hours.    On our test bench, the internal amplifiers of this particular unit  #...4072, produced 14 volts per channel for 24 watts per channel at 8 ohms and 14 volts at 4 ohms for 49 watts per channel via discrete metal cased, TO-3, FET, metal cased output devices at 1khz.  ____________________________     Very well built, JVC / Nivico 5003 Stereo Receiver with S.E.A. Very handsome, early '70's look with a lot of "real-world" features. This is the "Green Dashboard" version (there was another version in orange that we had in the past). Output is selectable for either 4 or 8 / 16 ohms. This is probably one of the most important features an amplifier can have, but one you rarely see. It allows full power to be delivered into one pair of 8 ohms speakers (or even 16 ohms speaker if you have any of those). Usually a feature you only see on professional power amps and tube amps. Other features include:      - Weighted flywheel analog "slide-rule" tuning   - System 1 & System 2 speaker selectors   - 5 Band, "S.E.A." (Sound Effects Amplifier) Graphic EQ for tone control   - Tone Control Defeat for bypassing the EQ, giving the purest signal path to the amplifiers - "Loudness" function to boost Bass and Treble in relationship to Mid frequencies at lower volume levels for a much fuller sound.   - FM DX / Local switch   - FM Muting with rear located Muting level adjustment (very rare option) (separate from Stereo / Mono selector)   - Stereo / Mono selector (for the entire pre-amp section, not just the tuner and separate from FM muting selector)   - Built-in Hi & Lo Cut Filters   - Phono input with rear located Magnetic / Ceramic cartridge selectors for each input   - Aux input for (Video / CD / DVD / VCR / DAT, etc.)   - "Tape Head" Input   - Tape monitor (inputs / outputs)   - Analog VU meter for signal tuning   - Pre-amp out / main power amp input loop   - Outputs selectable for either 4, 8 or 16 ohms   - Front mounted 1/4" stereo headphone jack   - Dual AC convenience outlets on rear panel with 1 switched and 1 un-switched totaling 600 watts capacity   - True “WORLD AC POWER    as it will work on both 50 or 60 Hz AC and voltages from 110-240 volts AC         Again, we have completely gone through unit cleaning inside and out including cleaning all controls and switches, and testing all functions. It, like all of our gear, is Ready To Go! Again this receiver looks and sounds great! Face and knobs in near NEW cosmetic condition. Receiver measures 20.75" wide x 15" deep x 5" high and weighs 27 lbs unpacked. Includes our standard 90 day limited warranty.   NIVICO / JVC 5003 "Green"   Condition 8.5   This unit originally retailed for $370 in 1968.
