MID 1930's - EARLY 1940's ERA
This was the �Age of Design�. Companies seemed to take considerable pride in, and strive for competitive edge designs. Corners were not cut, and premium materials were used. Radios from the late 30's and early 40's exemplify this trend.

This era was famous for the "Catalins" and the "Blue Mirrors"

Unfortunately very few of the original versions of the Catalin, Blue Mirror, and other cool designed radios of the late 30's and early 40's survived to the present. If you are lucky enough to find an example, the cost can easily be many hundreds, to quite a few thousand dollar$. (we sold and original Catalin for $6,200.00 recently, and some original "blue mirror" Spartons are bringing as much as $30,000.00). Here's your chance to own a version of these famous radios without �selling the farm�. Not only are they much more affordable, but they are much more dependable as they are solid state as opposed to tubes. They also have FM as well as AM, and often may have cassette tape, CD and / or Phono capabilities.

1950's ERA
This was the prosperous post World War II era. While the earlier periods had concentrated on cosmetic design and upgrades, the 50's ushered in a trend towards better, more advanced circuit designs while still retaining "style". Still a far cry from today's standards, 1950's radios were much more reliable, efficient, lighter, safer, and less expensive than their predecessors. The 1950's also saw the introduction of the Jukebox. They were a huge hit! You couldn't go to any diner, cafe, roadhouse, or club and not see a beautifully designed jukebox with lots of glowing neon, bubbles and chrome. Unfortunately it also seems that it was a fleeting time for their designs. Soon after that they rapidly became very "boring" in cosmetic appeal. You can still find examples of the original 50's jukeboxes for sale, but they have become extremely valuable, with some costing in excess of $15,000. Here's your chance to own one for much less!
