We also re-soldered all I/O jack connections at circuit board for many more years of trouble-free service. Unit looks like NEW! All functions tested for perfect operation. All inputs tested and both side produces clean and even sine waves! No power supply hum of any kind. It's dead silent! Yamaha C-45 Stereo Pre-amp / control center. Features include: - Separate Bass, Mid and Treble Controls - Absolute Tone Bypass for purest signal route - Variable Loudness. A mainstay trademark of Yamaha Pre-Amps and Receivers. Other than some minor scuffs to the top sheet metal case from other gear being placed on top, the unit looks and sounds great! We also disassembled and re-soldered both banks of speaker output binding posts and input jacks. Upon reassembly we also verified the face plate, attenuator alignment. Both meter back lamps also replaced with new bulbs for years of trouble-free service. Inputs tested and both side produces clean and even sine waves into static 8 & 4 ohm loads! No power supply hum of any kind. It's dead silent! All functions test fine. Following restoration procedures, the unit was ran continuously at medium volume, as all our amplifier / receivers are, into a load for 48 hours. On our test bench the internal amplifiers of this particular unit (#...77UW)produced peak power of 36 volts per channel for 162 watts per channel at 8 ohms and 32 volts at 4 ohms for 256 watts per channel via discrete outputs @ 1khz. (4x A1265 & 2x C3182 discrete output transistors. (DC measured at -4.3mv left and -1.1mv right) ________________________________________ Great, late 1980's model power amp by Yamaha. The Model M-45. BIG power output! Excellent for 2-channel (stereo) audio listening or for use in an A/V system to power additional Front or Rear channel speakers. Enough power to also work as a project recording studio / band practice power amp as they are more stable at lower impedances than most (if used professionally, would be advisable to use a cooling fan). Lots of punch and headroom. I was a Yamaha dealer when this model was current and made lots of very happy Yamaha power amp owners with this model and it's flanking siblings. Features: - Class "A/B" or " Auto-Class A" selectable modes *- 2- Channel stereo operation* - A / B speaker selector via high current relay - Dual, Vertical, 10-Segment LED Power Output Meters - Built-in Protection circuits - 24 Karat Gold plated input jacks to remain corrosion free, thus insuring the best audio signal transfer. - Oversize power supply transformer with dual 22,000 uf / 69-Volt filter caps built by Nichicon exclusively for Yamaha, and heavy duty bridge rectifier with oversize heat sink - Dual, vertically finned, unfinished aluminum, internal heat sinks for very efficient heat transfer / evacuation and completely vented from bottom thru top for maximum cooling (all electronics manufacturers should do this as well) - True "WORLD AC POWER"™ allows unit to be operated on 50 or 60 Hz AC and will select voltages from 110v, 120v, 220v and 240 volts AC input. - Rear-mounted AC convenience outlet with a capacity of 200 watts Original Specs: Design type: 2 Channels Dynamic Headroom: 1.3dB THD; 0.003% at full rated power (125w) into 8Ω w/ 20-20kHz Power Bandwidth: 10Hz-60kHz @ 8Ω Input Sensitivity: 1.1V Rated RMS Output: 125 watts per channel, min. RMS, at 8 ohms, both channels driven, from 20Hz to 20kHz. 180 watts RMS continuous @ 4 ohms @ spec - Max dynamic power output up to 390 watts per channel @ 2 ohms (not recommended for long run times. Again, we have completely gone through this Yamaha M-45, stereo power amp. It is in fabulous cosmetic condition. Very little visible wear. Works and sounds great!
